The short answer is once a month. The honest answer is: it depends on what your skin is doing and what you're asking the treatment to accomplish — and anyone who gives you one number without asking either question is reading from a script.
Here's how to actually think about it.
Why "once a month" is the standard answer
Your skin replaces itself on a cycle of roughly 28 days — a little faster in your twenties, slower with each decade after. A HydraFacial clears the buildup of that cycle: the dead surface cells, the congestion that's accumulated in pores, the dullness that creeps in so gradually you stop noticing it.
Booking every four weeks means each treatment meets a fresh cycle of buildup. That's not a sales cadence; it's the biology the number comes from. It's also why results compound with regularity — skin that's cleared monthly behaves differently than skin that gets rescued twice a year.
When more often makes sense — briefly
If you're working through a specific stretch of congestion or preparing for something — a wedding season, a stretch of stress skin — every two to three weeks for a limited run is reasonable. This is a sprint, not a lifestyle. Once things settle, dropping back to monthly holds the result.
More frequently than every two weeks isn't more effective. The skin needs time to complete its own turnover between treatments; you can't exfoliate your way ahead of biology.
When less often is perfectly fine
If your skin is generally clear and your goal is maintenance and glow, every six to eight weeks keeps you in good shape. Quarterly — four times a year, at the change of each season — is a legitimate rhythm too. It won't deliver the compounding smoothness of monthly visits, but it beats the rescue-mission approach every time.
What we'd steer you away from is the once-a-year-before-vacation pattern. One HydraFacial after a year of buildup works hard and looks great for a week — but you're restarting from zero every time, and you never see what the treatment does when it has continuity to work with.
A realistic schedule by skin type
Oily or congestion-prone: every 4 weeks. Pores refill on a schedule; meet it.
Dry or dull: every 4–6 weeks. The serum infusion is doing most of the work for you, and its effects taper around the one-month mark.
Sensitive: every 6–8 weeks to start, adjusting by response. Gentle as suction extraction is, sensitive skin appreciates longer recovery windows.
Clear and low-maintenance: every 6–8 weeks, or seasonally. You're maintaining, not correcting.
Hormonal breakouts: timing matters as much as frequency — booking in the week after a cycle, rather than right before, tends to catch skin at its most receptive. Results vary from person to person; this one especially.
The membership math, stated plainly
If monthly is the cadence that fits your skin, a membership usually beats paying per visit — that's the entire reason memberships exist, and it's fair to evaluate them as math rather than commitment. Ours are listed with prices on the HydraFacial & facials page; compare the monthly rate against the single-visit price and decide with a calculator, not a sales pitch. If you'd only come quarterly, skip the membership — it wouldn't serve you.
Start where your skin is
The right frequency is a conversation that starts with skin we can actually look at. Every visit at our Plano studio begins with a free skin analysis — we'll tell you honestly whether monthly, seasonal, or something in between fits what we see.
